Mergers and Acquisitions among agencies
IAS has been conducting mergers and acquisitions among agencies for more than 10 years. These transactions have had a variety of reasons behind them. Sometimes they have been for the purposes of BEE improvement, sometimes for skills acquisition, sometimes for capabilities improvement and sometimes for geographical reasons. Some of these transactions have been driven by international agencies, but most have been local agency driven processes. Whatever the rationale for an acquisition or merger, the IAS’ approach is one of careful research, absolute confidentiality, and the widest choice of potential candidate agencies.
Through our 15 years of experience we are able, quickly and purposefully, to identify the most suitable agencies for a transaction. For more detail on this please be in direct contact with Founder and CEO Johanna McDowell, who personally runs this particular workstream at IAS - johanna@agencyselection.co.za. In order to ensure that her skills are honed and fully up to date, Johanna has just completed a two day, full time and in person intensive M&A course at GIBS Business School.
SCOPEN printed reports
Stay up to date with trends around agency:client relationships.
AGENCY SCOPE is a biennial research study, conducted every two years, on trends within marketer-agency relationships and the perception and image of agencies. The study universe of analysis was comprised of the highest-level decision-makers in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Digital, Media and Procurement, from 207 of the largest and most important Marketers in South Africa. The professionals interviewed in each company had to be involved in and interact with, on an on-going basis, the decision-making process for selecting and approving their agencies’ work.
The SCOPEN Report offers insights into the trends in the South African Communications industry. It presents a summary of the 15 key trends and 10 conclusions in South Africa obtained from the latest AGENCY SCOPE study.
